Impressive news coming from around the globe. John Colon has been promoted to principal of Greenwich Associates, the international strategy consulting and research firm. According to the press release, "Mr. Colon consults with senior executives at investment banks and brokerage firms in the United States, the United Kingdom, and continental Europe." John and his wife, Deborah, are living in Darien, Conn.
Dr. Mark Linskey has received two awards for significant research on brain tumors. Mark is chief resident in the Department of Neurological Surgery in the University Health Centers of Pittsburgh, and his research specialty is in neuro-oncology. Now if he could only find a cure for the common hangover.
Congratulations to Peter Feer, who was selected for the "50 for Colorado" class of 1993. The organization is designed for business leaders to "experience an in-depth study of the Colorado economy, focusing on industries and quality-of-life components that influence the business climate of the state." Say that three times fast. Peter is currently an associate at The Wallach Company in Denver.
Kudos also to Sarah Hall, the new director of the Midstate Epilepsy Association of Stevens Point, Wis. Sarah has spent the past five years as the director of development at The Country School in Madison, Conn., and was also director of public affairs for the Connecticut Society to Prevent Blindness.
One man who didn't enjoy January's inauguration ceremonies was Bob Charles. Bob had been serving as an aide under President Bush and thus found himself out of a job. Bob was confident in his ability to regain employment but disappointed in the election results. Both lawyers, Bob and his wife, Marina, are living in Chevy Chase, Md. Marina works parttime in a Washington firm.
Leftover news from last summer's Olympics in Barcelona: the Dartmouth contingent on the U.S. Rowing Team included StephanShellans, coxswain of the pair-with-coxswain; Jim Moulton '84, a reserve oarsman; and Linda McKibbin, who is the assistant trainer in Hanover.
With Reunion approaching fast (just ask Hank), it's very possible that this could be my last column. If so, I hope I've kept you all entertained as well as mildly informed over the past (gulp) six years. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in Hanover in June. Until then ... see ya.
