Ah, summer. The sun is shining and the churches are packed with starcrossed lovers exchanging vows of marriage. Don't tell me you don't know someone who tied the knot recently, but if you honestly don't, you do now.
Your fairly faithful scribe removed himself from the free-agent list and signed a lifetime contract with Lee Ferguson, Bowdoin '85, in June on Cape Cod. The bride, a native of Weston, Mass., wore ... ah forget that stuff, let's jump right to the guest fist. Standing up for the groom was EdFrechette. The ushers included TomShanahan and Chris Morrison 'Bl. Other Green guests included Sally Frechette Maynard '41, David Frechette '67, Jeff Bechler,John Funk, Craig Seligman 'Bl, John Connolly '81, Charlie Morrison '54, Charlie Morrison '83, Dave Gavitt '59, Dan Gavitt '88, Dick Hoehn '59, Ray Patterson '83, Nick Roberts '83, Rich Walsh 'B4, Brian Cusack 'Bl, George Hanna '39, and George Kingsbury '83. After a post-wedding bash at the Beachcomber, the happy couple was off to Acapulco and the start of their beautiful life together.
Sorry to do so much personal history, but I think this next thing is important. As our freshman year came to a close, Dartmouth appointed its first woman Trustee, Sally Frechette. Now, ten years later, she has completed her term and, in one son's opinion, has done a tremendous job. I'd like to say more but it is impossible to say enough so I'll move on.
When last we spoke, Rob Olsson was tiying to decide between a summer job in New York or one in Chicago. Well, Ols had to compromise and is spending the warmer months in Houston with Jon Strawn. What he and Tex are doing down there is anybody's guess.
While Ols has vacated Chicago, SteveGleason has moved right in. Fud is starting his own trading brokerage in the Windy City and I'm sure will take all clients.
Also tying the knot this spring was JohnHutchinson. John and his bride, RPI grad Sarah Wood, are both working for Raytheon and living in Westford, Mass.
That's it for me. Please note my new address and use it!
