"I never did give anybody hell. I just told the truth, and they thought it was hell." HarryS. Truman OK. Lets start off with the "Brush With Fame" candidate of the month. Profiled in a local newspaper article was our very own Lori Rheingold. Lori has started her own business, Rheingold Fashions, which sells madeto-order fashions for men "with disproportionate physiques, body builders, and those who are naturally muscular." Sounds like she could fit the entire male Dartmouth population! Hah hah. Lori got her retail experience by working for Bloomingdale's after she graduated, participating in the merchandise management training program. She then attended Emory Business School and graduated with an M.B.A. in marketing and management. Lori herself is a body builder and works out at the East Coast Gym in Poughkeepsie. Hopefully she will bring some clothes samples to the next reunion, where she should make a killing in sales.
Brian and Elizabeth (Thompson) Jones are the proud parents of a baby girl, Emily, born in February. Brian is a resident at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C., and plans to go into family practice (obviously in more ways than one). Elizabeth writes, "No, Daddy didn't do the delivery himself, but he did cut the cord!" Elizabeth was teaching elementary and high-school English before Emily's arrival, but she has now moved to fulltime motherhood.
Paul Hochxnan was married last September to Tricia Bradley, and the couple have settled in Bronxville, N.Y. You may remember from an earlier column that Paul is a freelance writer. Check the May issue of House and Garden for his latest. He is currently working on a feature film script for a director in New York and also hoping to write some more "Up Close and Personals" for the next Olympics in Lillehammer.
Michelle Bonneau, member of the infamous Tri-Delta sorority, writes that she graduated from optometry school in 1990 and has been working in group practice since then. She has recently been engaged to Dan Broderick, a non-Dartmouth man. However, he does have Big Green connections: his heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation company supplies a lot of the equipment used at the new Mary Hitchcock Hospital. The couple will be married in September or October and are currently living in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
Okay, I know I have written about GeoffMichel many a time, but I have received yet another update from our "most likely to be President" candidate. Geoff has now been named counsel to the honorable Arne H. Carlson, governor of the state of Minnesota. This by way of fax, with the simple tell-tale sender's message, "If you have any questions, please feel free to call Geoff at (612) 296-5 796." Way to go, Geoff!
Jeff Putnam has moved from the beautiful, sunny San Francisco Bay Area to Minneapolis after graduating from Stanford Business School. He now works for Northwest. SallyGorman has decided to stick in the Bay Area after having graduated from the business school at Berkeley. She works for an alternative-energy corporation in Oakland, "doing deals."
Well, that's all folks. Keep the news coming. 50-cent stamp!
