Jack Parker writes from The Gables in Farmington, Conn., that his wife, Polly, died after an extended illness. Jack met Polly on a blind date set up by Hobey Holbrook at the Harvard game in 1923. Incidentally, Hobey also recently died, and his obituary will appear in this issue or a future one. Jack reports that he fought off a nearly fatal case of pneumonia and is left with a cane and a whole host of medications. He still drives locally. He speaks of The Gables as "serene and comfortable, with many new friends of similar interests and with everything needed under one roof." It is great that he can still also comment that "it is a wonderful life."
