I Readers of this column may shed a few tears to learn that the 70-year-old ski jump at the Vale of Tempe was dismantled in April, but not before the local alums and friends had a final jumping meet. The local angle of the story is that Rip Ripson and Jud Smith boast that they each survived a jump. The NCAA discontinued jumping as an intercollegiate sport in 1980.

Good news from the class meeting during Class Officer's Weekend in May: Treasurer Tom Nast reported our financial condition is excellent and there will be no dues increase. President Russ Stearns said that Dean of Students Lee Pelton will be the speaker at our mini-reunion dinner on Friday, September 24. The dean is highly regarded on campus and will bring us up to date on the students and their concerns. After a day of many meetings, the class officers and local classmates gathered at the Stearns home for a wonderful buffet and an evening of socializing. Thanks, Russ and Lee, for a great evening.

Sey Ochsner was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the American Medical Association at the 1993 annual meeting in Chicago in June. Sey was nominated for this high honor by the Radiology Society of North America.

Head Agent Fran Fenn is optimistic that 1937 will exceed our Alumni Fund goal of $lOO,OOO. Our class contributions to the Will to Excel Campaign now exceed $9,259,000. Congratulations to Fran and all the contributors. It was good to see Harvey Tull and Bud and Betty Knorr at a Will to Excel meeting at the Merion Cricket Club in Philadelphia.

With all the good news, we must report the sad news—the deaths of Pat Patterson, Don Bauer, Tom O'Brien Jr., and Bob Bosworth. Obituaries on these classmates will follow.

Dartmouth and our class owe much to Bob Bosworth. He served as the head of an Alumni Fund campaign and as a president for our class. It was Bob who promoted the 1937 minireunions which have benefitted Dartmouth and our class.
