As I sit down to write the '29 notes for the April issue, I am faced with February's calendar picture, "Winter Fairyland," a snow scene reminiscent of Mink Brook, but labeled "Epsom, New Hampshire." The solitary figures "28" alone in the fifth line foretell March's presence at the stage door for 71's Act 3. I can't see its costumelambskin or lionskin; hear its opening lines—bleat or roar; or foretell its weath-er—less snow or more.
A letter from A 1 Fisher on February 10 brought pictorial proof of his prowess with the camera. He sent us a full-colored picture of a visiting moose taken on his Fairlee farm acres referred to in an earlier column. A 1 also enclosed a newspaper picture and story of a 6-point two-year-old moose found killed in Norwich, Vt., which he identifies as his guest. I know Al is calling it as he saw it; and though I should be cowed by his wider knowledge and greater experience with the Vermonters, both 2- and 4-legged, I must say "That's some bull" in the picture.
A card from Russ Goudey informs us that his daughter Jacqui is now playing the flute in the New Orleans Philharmonic Orchestra and is teaching at Loyola University. She sends her warmest regards to her many friends in '29. He also announces that his son Bill "presented us with first grandson, Jason William, born 2/3/71, candidate for Class of 1993." Congratulations, Russ, to all the Goudeys on their new arrival.
Hank Stein tells me that he ran into Dick Johnson the first of the month and that Dick is keeping busy in his Devonshire Street Men's Clothing Store. I hope to stop in to see you, Dick, one day soon. Hank has also seen Nick Panoras in Brookline recently. He reports that Nick is still with H. J. Dowd Company, the well-known Cambridge paper merchants.

We are indebted to Ed Heister's daughter Anne Babcock for the following information about her father and her family: "Following graduation from Dartmouth, my father became associated with Hearst Advertising Service, representing newspapers across the country. He was Pittsburgh manager for several years, leaving there in 1961 to become manager in Florida. He resided in Pompano Beach from 1961 until his death in 1971. Following retirement from Hearst in 1966, he became an account executive with "Pictorial Life," a social journal serving southern Florida. He was still active in this position when he passed away. He is survived by myself, his only child, and four grandchildren. My mother predeceased him seven years ago. He has two sisters, living in New Jersey. My father was actively interested in the affairs at Dartmouth. In fact, my Christmas present to him this year was a 'Dartmouth green' sweater, in celebration of this year's football record. It was his dearest hope that one of his three grandsons would follow him by attending Dartmouth."
A card from John J. Cort informs us that he has retired from R. H. Macy & Co. and is now living at 609 East Skyline Court, Springhill, Fla. 33512. '29 wishes you and Nancy many happy years in the land of sunshine and orange blossoms.
I am sorry to have to report the death of another classmate, Charles A. Shea, which occurred in Springfield, Mass., on January 28, 1971, after a brief illness.
