Robin Robinson is the grandmaster of College disc jockeys: his program on WDCR, the "Opera Showcase," is in its 35th year and is Dartmouth's longest-running radio show ever. "The toughest thing about it," Robinson admits, "is just getting to the station." The three flights of stairs in Robinson Hall to the WDCR studios are a killer. "They get me every time," Robinson huffs, on the eve of his 90th birthday.

One of his worst moments occurred just weeks ago. "The power pack in my portable computer failed and I lost five years of scripts," he says solemnly. For the honegenarian who works months ahead of time on his lines and has over 250 scripts saved on his computer, this spelled disaster. "But," Robinson says, drawing out the pause, "I brought the computer in to Kiewit and they fixed it up."
