In previous years 1926 has always surpassed Alumni Fund quotas, but this year, in the last few days of June, our class's serious illnesses and deaths made it seem impossible for us make the $75,000 goal. However, George Scott, our head agent for 11 years, doesn't know defeat. He phoned and asked several classmates to join him and pledge the difference—which put us over the top. Our sincerest thanks to George and our savior classmates.

Of our five classmates who graduated as civil engineers from Thayer School, George is the only one still here. Those gone are Herb Darling, Joe Eaton,Per Johnson, and Charlie Jost.
Bob Stopford had the misfortune to slip on the floor at home, fall, and break vertebrae in his spine. Recovery is slow, and he is laid up and in pain. This is a time when personal notes or phone calls are welcome. (12877 N. Ocean Blvd. R652, Boca Raton, FL 33431. (407) 391-5864.)
On July 4 at a family reunion on Moose Pond in Bridgton, Maine, your scribe phoned Joe Kinney and wife Helen, 35-year residents in that town. Later we visited their beautiful, ISO-year-old Colonial home with traditional flower garden overlooking 30 acres, open fields, woods, and then Highland lake. In this setting Joe and Helen are doing just fine!
