A sad call from Class Treasurer Ed Raisbeck in Darien, Conn., told that his wife Ollie (OliviaDeublier) had died April 18. It was unexpected because for years Ollie seemed to be winning her battle with cancer. She and Ed had been able to spend long vacations in Canada. Ollie was a former Skidmore College trustee and served in many volunteer interests for her college and at home. She had three children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The following few classmates back in the 1920s left Dartmouth and graduated from other colleges and hence no longer received Dartmouth news. In the 1990s class birthdaycard mailings have included these "old classmates" and brought surprising results.
Williams Mitchell, 37 Fayerweather, said his year at Dartmouth in 1922 was very wonderful. He transferred to Wesleyan College and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, then got a Ph.D. at Yale. As a professor he taught on numerous faculties. He now gives to our 1926 Alumni Fund.
Weldon Wilkinson, 48 Hitchcock, was three years in Hanover and was Sigma Nu. On transfer to the University of Minnesota, Wilkie earned anM.D. degree. A stroke ended independent living for him, and he's in a retirement facility. He sent his best to all.
David Levy, Wilmette, III., was three years at Dartmouth and then earned a B.S. at Northwestern University. His health failed and his daughter helped him, but he died December 22, 1993.
Francis Ives, Wallingford, Conn., was three years at Dartmouth and earned a B.S. at Middlebury in 1927. He was a chemical engineer with Norton Co., Worcester, and lived in Holden, Mass. He appreciated his birthday card. He later died March 13, 1994.
