A hearty thank-you to all who took the time to write. Beth Johnson wrote in documenting a bevy of revelers at Anne Katherine Smith Briggs and Mark Briggs's wedding on July 3. Among those in attendance: Erica Beisler, MelissaRoche, Courtney Williamson and husband John '90, Scott Mitchell, Dave Previte, the East-coast reincarnation of Spontaneous Combustion—Lou Cirne, Bill Lapcevic,Ted Wallace, and Dave Kaiser—KristenAnderson, Chris Gibbons, Barb LucasJeffress, Caroline Kerrigan, Kate Madigan, Tara Naranjo '92, Steve Hoffman '95, Kaja Schuppert '95, Dave Quenemoen '92, Carl Seglem '92, Kathleen Patten, and ScottQuesenberry. Whew! Congratulations, Anne Katherine and Mark.

Some news about wedding guests: Dave Kaiser was recently awarded the 1993 Leroy Apker Award for the American Physical Society. (Who's Leroy Apker?) Kristen Anderson is enjoying herself at Anderson Consulting. (Hmm, how'd she get that job?) Barb Lucas Jeffress, along with husband Scott, will move to Augusta, Ga. And Kate Madigan flew in from L.A., where she's been working at a medical research lab.

Renee Reed helped bring another basketball team to great success last year, working as an assistant coach at Rutgers University. She and Theresa Grentz (head coach and coach of the 1992 Olympic team) enjoyed several weeks in the Top 20 after dethroning previously number-one Tennessee. They are gearing up for this winter with high hopes of a possible tournament bid. Renee is using her free time to pursue a master's degree in higher educational administration—aiming for Dick Jaeger's position. Also on the sports front, despite the strike Bob Bennett had a great summer, transfering from the A's Class- A team in Michigan to the A's Class-A team in Modesto, Calif., gradually moving toward the Show. John Eliot writes, "Yes, I am one of the delinquents who have failed to write since we left the Hanover Plain. Let that not over- shadow the good news which has prompted this letter. You see, my Dartmouth roommate has just announced his engagement. Yes, John Goff and Jen Ebright are engaged to be married. They are planning the wedding sometime in August of 1996. Expect a bash sometime this fall, most likely in Boston. By the way, donations for the Help Coach Goff Survive a Diamond Ring Fund should be mailed to the Tufts University Football Office. Speaking of Tufts Football, their 0 and 8,000 record is sure to pick up now that Coach Goff is at the helm of the receivers for his second season. His experience as a women's lax coach last spring should prove useful." Thanks, John, I couldn't have said it better myself. John also reported on TimReidy, who "in a whirl of Jean-Claude Van Damme" maneuvers knocked his Smith-Barney boss's friend unconscious at a N.Y.C. nightclub. "Certainly great reaction skills for a grad living in new York, but maybe not the quickest way to win friends and influence your boss." John E. is working to finish his master's thesis in sports psychology and (also safe from the strike) playing semi-pro baseball in Charlottesville, Va.

Giles Kelly says he spent the summer in D.C. at a law clerkship at the U.S. Department of Justice while gearing up for and (not) looking forward to year two at UVA Law, but it would appear he's had a somewhat different agenda: "Anyway, there's a bit more to tell. I've made it a point to enjoy good beer [sounds like a good idea], so I've consumed lots of microbrew [three-page list included in his letter], I've enjoyed the benefits of the big city—Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones...." David Cramer and Josh Bers joined Giles for the Dead show and maneuvered through the metro-traffic while watching the World Cup final on portable TV in the car. Ah, summer.

Returning to school this fall were MichaelJ. Stawasz and Sharon Tomao et al. to Georgetown Law. We are all invited to crash at Michael's posh pad.

That's it for now—see you at the bonfire.
