Double Jeopardy!

Last spring we reported that govy prof Tom Nichols won $45,690 in a Jeopardy! winning streak. Nichols was sent packing in the fifth program when he answered "Bremen" in response to "The full name of this German city calls it a Free and Hanseatic port." Nichols's opponent said, "Hamburg." Turns outNichols wasn't wrong; both Bremen and Hamburg are correct responses. The producers invited Nichols for a makeup program that aired October 10. Nichols won another $ 11,990 and got a shot at Jeopardy's championship show.
