OK. Here it is. The beginning of a new era of class communications. First there was the hand-written note, then the typed letter, followed by the blurry fax. Now there's e-mail. Your correspondent, and by extension the entire Dartmouth family, can be reached with a few strokes of the keyboard at Fire away!

By the time we all read this we will know if Angus "Gus" King has pulled off a marvelous upset and won, running as an Independent, the governor's office in the state of Maine. [He did! ed.] The national media from The New York Times to National Public Radio, cited Gus's campaign as an example of the growing distrust American voters have for incumbents and formal party structures.

The mystery is over. Mike Bromley's daughter, accepted at Dartmouth, was all set to attend Amherst when a spot opened up for her from the Williams waiting list, so she's now in Williamstown. Got it?

Meanwhile Mike, a Colorado Springs lawyer, recently went big-horn sheep hunting in Wyoming. His guide turned out to be the husband of Kate Stone '92, with whom Mike reminisced by the campfire about all things Green.

Ted Pittiglio died of cancer on September 29. An obituary will appear in a future issue. Peter Tuxen spoke at the memorial service and has conveyed the news that Ted's untimely passing and his wife Priscilla's desire to establish a memorial fund has led to the creation of the Class of 1966 Scholarship Fund.

Now any of us can use this fund to demonstrate our respect, love, and admiration for a fallen classmate. The College will acknowledge the gesture to Ted's family, if you indicate you are donating in his memory. Address correspondence to the Class of 1966 Scholarship Fund, Stewardship Office, Dartmouth College, 6066 Fleet Bank Building, Hanover, NH 03755-3515.
