Everyone now knows about plans for our 60th. It will be a great gathering time for The Good Class—don't miss it! Reunion Chairman Bill Wilson has sent you the word about all the arrangements. Overnights are Monday and Tuesday, June 13 and 14, and the final event is luncheon on June 15. Then, if you want more time close-by, there will be a few post-reunion get-together days at Dowd's Country Inn (Lyme, NH).
When John Anderson was here for the mini-reunion we were reminded of his fine book, Alio ays in Love: Life (Not Death) of a Salesman. It is largely autobiographical, including old Dartmouth days. John and his minireunion guest, Judith Banks Dale, were married on January 22 and will live for a few months in Houston.
It's hard to imagine any football season with games as exciting for us alumni to watch as in this past season. The team won all four Ivy games in Hanover, three with scoring in the final minutes. I caught two of the small footballs that the cheerleaders throw into the stands—gave one to President Freedman, who sat nearby, and the other to Gene andNina Orsenigo (who attend every game) as a gift for their granddaughter, a prospective Dartmouth student.
Judging by favorite hobbies listed on our Reunion Survey, we have some creative classmates out there. Jim Walter still does blacksmith work; Karl Weber makes sculptures; Bill Judd does ship models. Bub Clabaugh,Dick Hardt, Mike Joseph, Rog Manternach, John Roberts, and Bob Griffin enjoy woodworking, and artwork is a current hobby of Charlie Armes and Al Yankauer. Maybe they, or one of you hidden artists, will bring back for our 60th some samples of how skill and interest in creating survives.
Chuck Rolfe still has Marblehead as his home base, close enough to see Henty Hazen often and to get Nick Xanthaky over for tennis. To get warmed up for our big one, he and Stan Neill attended their 60th at Andover.
When retirees are in good physical shape, like Woody and Heidi Wood, they don't stay put. The Woods shift to their vacation home on the New Hampshire/Maine border, and they recently took a Dartmouth travel cruise to Mexico and came back to give us good word.
