At this time of year it feels good to sit before a roaring fire and think about times past and friends near and far. One of the real pleasures of writing this column is hearing from folks all over and renewing old acquaintances. The diversity and depth of the lives of our classmates never ceases to amaze me, especially when one remembers that we come from the days when diversity was an unintentional concept and college administrators only were concerned with education.
As an example, Roy Friedman writes from Yonkers, N.Y.: "My adventures in the literary field are mostly unprintable—that is, my stuff is not getting into print, and my response to that is not for the wholesome publications of the Dartmouth family. I have had a couple of short plays, 'The Temp' and 'All for Art,' published by Samuel French in the past year, and I'm still plugging away." My response is, good for you, Roy, and if you want to get published for sure, I'm looking for a replacement for this job.

Weight-loss goddess Susan Powter is starring in a new television show soon, which will be produced by none other than WoodyFraser, who is most famous for his production of the fabulous 35 th Reunion Extravaganza at the Hanover Inn, now available on tape from the same Mr. Fraser. Maybe Woody can get his cohort to come to the 40th in 1996 to hold some exercise classes for us.
