Glenn Harder followed the advice given to Ben Braddock: "Plastics," He went to med school, studied it, practiced it, built it, sold it. Now he winters in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and summers in Massachusetts with wife Mary, two-year-old Reed, and six-month-old Lars. He is glad to hear that Dave Bailey is enjoying his retirement An update on the Gator watch: Bailey was recently seen part-timing it in New York with a money management firm. It seems the wait for his tee-time at the Seniors Tour was too long.
John Burke participated in the Kim Tyler Memorial Open in Bethel, Maine, with LeeGallant, Jim White, and Fuzzy Thurston. Burkie stayed at Fuzzy's Sudbury Inn with wife Maureen and son Sean. If you get to Suffolk Downs and Don't Look Up is running, you should look for Burkie at Table 91 in the Terrace Room: he's buying. He also passed along a letter from . Dave Abbott, who is a "purveyor of fine wines" in Northampton, Mass. Dave has a five-year-old, Ben, and wife Beth recently ran for City Council and narrowly lost. Dave considers himself a wine salesman extraordinaire and the best chef in the class. He is angling for a cook-off at our 25th. Sounds like he and Lip could talk the talk, but can they walk the walk?
I received a really nice letter from the Mole, Rich Kayne. Rich went through nine years of medical training in New Haven (nothing I remember Rich doing in Hanover seemed bad enough to deserve that), culminating in an endocrinology fellowship. He is in private practice in nearby Cheshire and teaches parttime at Yale. He is married to Maria Cruz, who graduated from Mt. Holyoke, and they have three kids. Maria has an import business which takes them to the Far East, where Rich has taken some time to do some medical teaching and patient care. He sends regards to the South Fayer crew—Elia, Price, Garnett, Sack, and Shirey.
I noted the results of the Northeast Regional High School Championships for crosscountry held in Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y. The fifth place girl was Molly Dinan from Maine, qualifying for the Nationals in San Diego. Would someone confirm if she's related to that notorious cross-country and track runner, Peter Dinan? Finally, our North Country roving reporter, Shel Prentice, ran into Warren Montgomery and Roger Poor at Lou's after the Princeton game. Warren is a hospital administrator in Brattleboro, Roger is with Eastern Mountain Sports in New Hampshire, and Shel believes he remembers that Roger has a six-month-old daughter. Roger, is your wife swimming again? On the topic of Shel's memory, Joe Fallon vehemently denied ever having said he "cleaned up" at the last poker game.
Until mud season.
