As director of small and midsize car segments at Ford Motor Cos., Will Boddie '67, Th' 69, headed up the reincarnation of Detroit's hottest piece of nostalgia, the Ford Mustang. The car loaded with such stylistic throwbacks as side scoops, open grille, and pony logo was engineered by a youthful team of engineers working 12-hour days. Boddie brought a prototype to the Thayer School for a first-ever outside viewing during a January 1992 reception hosted by Ford to recruit future engineers. Among the proud developers: Kristen Morrow '92, the only student engineer on the launch team.

Boddie's little beauty can go from zero to '64 in an instant.
