On June 23 choreographer Moses Pendleton '71 and his dance troupe, Momix, charged the Hopkins Center full of Passion., a world-touring performance set to the music of Peter Gabriel. And on the next night the troupe performed its latest debut, Baseball. a performance blending music and dance muscle with images of America's favorite pastime. Baseball is selling out its shows around the world, performing away games in countries including Italy and Japan. People in the Moore Theatre during the Hanover visit can tell you why: the five dancers in the troupe combine aggressive athleticism with lyrical, moving, and often funny choreography.
One of the best athletes is Pendleton himself, who started dancing his freshman year as rehabilitation for a broken leg, and has not stopped since. Co-founder of Pilobolus his senior year, Pendleton has danced, directed, and choreographed an exhausting number of performances, films, and music videos.
