Tuck Issue of "Daedalus"
FEBRUARY 1969

The Tuck School joined with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences to sponsor the Winter 1969 issue of Daedalus. This special issue, entitled "Perspectives on Business," contained eleven articles by leaders in business and related fields, including Leonard S. Silk, chairman of the editorial board of Business Week and a member of the Board of Overseers of Tuck School. The authors discussed "whether business, as presently constituted, is in a position to assume new roles linked, in one way or another, to the deepening social crises of our time."

The initiative for the study came from the Tuck School, and the editors of Daedalus acknowledged their debt to former Dean Karl Hill '38 and the present Dean, John W. Hennessey. Four other members of the faculties of Tuck and the College also served on the advisory committee for the special issue: Professors Wayne G. Broehl, Henry W. Ehrmann, Robert M. Macdonald, and Daniel Marx Jr. '29. Financial support for two conferences and the publication was provided to Tuck by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the I.B.M. Corporation, and the Amos Tuck School Associates Program.
