Golfing, gardening, tennis, or walking may be on your mind as you read this issue, but it's also time to plan for the fall mini-reunion. Cochairmen John Johannessen and Charlie Blaisdell have completed plans for another fabulous mini on September 29-30. Please note that this is a week later than usual, as it will be the weekend of the first home football game with Penn. This date will also give you an opportunity to see more of the colorful fall foliage.

Treasurer Tom Nast received the annual report from Melanie N. Norten, director of stewardship, giving the financial status of the 1937 Scholarship Fund for 1993-94. As of June 30 your contributions over the years had produced a market value of $161,388.81. The income of $7,730.73 in 1994 supports our 1937 scholars.

Bibs Bankart, who handled the secretary chores in an admirable manner for many years, had a rough 1994. In May he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke which required surgery and then two months later more surgery for a subdural hematoma. He is in a nursing-rehab center 11 miles from his home. Letters or cards to Katie will reach him.

Chick Koop will oversee the development of the Time Life Inc. medical video series to be sold in local pharmacies by early 1996. He Said, "The videos will let the patient understand what the problem is and what they are going to face." Our classmate's stature as former surgeon general of the United States grows taller year by year.

Carolyn and your secretary returned in January from an enjoyable safari in Kenya and Tanzania and vouch that the scenes you see on Discovery are authentic.

An apology to the Stephen Cochrane family and a correction to the obit: Dorothy died in 1993, not 1943, and there are five surviving children.

If you haven't sent your check to the Alumni Fund, please do so by June 30 so head agent Fran Fenn and all his helpers can reach the $90,000 goal
