84 When last we spoke, I told you that one of our classmates had founded a soft ware company in Northern California. TouchSoft was founded by EmerickMcDonald, who I hope will send mail giving us more information about what he's doing. I got some more news from LaurieKretchmar. She writes, "I'm leaving Working Woman magazine in N.Y.C. at the end of March to become online managing editor of Women's Wire, a small but growing international online service based in the San Francisco Bay Area. What kind of content do subscribers want? Figuring that out is my new challenge. E-mail your ideas, suggestions, and a hello to ."

More news on talented classmates: who has spent die past year as Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cassio in Othello, Charles Dalrymple in Brigadoon, the Snow Prince and the Nutcracker in The Nutcracker, and Major Ross in The Crucifer of Blood? (And that's only in his spare time.) Todd Greenquist. He's living and performing in Brewer, Maine. During the day he's a programmer and analyst at Bangor Hydro-electric. He's singing with the Maine Men's Gay Chorus, helping to run Robinson Ballet Co., and performing with Penobscot Theatre Co. and the Waterville Performing Arts Center. This spring he is performing in St. Petersburg in an arts festival. Imagine what he could do if he pursued his hobby full time! I feel lucky if I manage to fit in the occasional bike ride.

Todd spoke with Sarah Freeh. The quick catch-up on Sarah is that she's practicing veterinary medicine (mixed animal) in Idaho. She and Mark have two daughters, one two and a half years old and the other six months. She worked in Zaire while she was in school. The longer version has to do with her playing James Herriott while eight months pregnant. I think we need to pair Sarah with Laurie so that we can have a female American version of Herriott to read about. Performing large-animal operations while pregnant has to beat anything he got into.

From the press-release files: Paula Joyce joined the board of directors of Pro Portsmouth, a seacoast-based non-profit organization that promotes and celebrates the arts, culture, and history of Portsmouth, N.H., and the seacoast area. Paula is working at the First New Hampshire Bank.

McKinney, Stringer & Webster, P.C., announced that Jonna D. Kirschner has become an associate in the firm's Oklahoma City office. The release tells me what clubs and associations jonna has been a member of or, in some cases, founded. Instead of all that I'll tell you what I know. Jonna and her British husband, Bruce Scambler, moved from London to Oklahoma recently with their darling new son, Jay. I know, I've seen pictures.

I also was sent an amazing article from Colorado Woman News about Diana Golden. Diana was invited to forerun the Aspen World Cup slalom and downhill. Sports Illustrated magazine is quoted as having said that she, "perhaps more than any other athlete, brought crossover credibility to the disabledsports movement." She's retired from competitive ski racing and is now a professional speaker whose main message is that "Fear is a huge obstacle when we try to do the things we love. Don't let it stand in the way."
