As we prepare for our 30th Reunion on June 13-16, it's quite fitting to note that a number of classmates have been making news recently.

Jim Lustenader has been promoted to senior VP at Dugan Valva Contess, a national marketing services agency in Princeton, N.J. Jim has been with DVC since the late 1960s. Before that he took his Cornell M.B.A. to PepsiCo, Sodastream in London and Melitta.

Two education notes. Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., has appointed Kenneth. Taylor to its board of trustees. Ken is president of Taylor Packing in Wyalusing and also serves on the board of directors of the Guthrie Health Care System and the Wyalusing Industrial Development Corp.

And Bill Graver was recently elected a trustee at Berea, a liberal arts college that serves economically disadvantaged youths in southern Appalachia. The multifaceted Bill, formerly a general partner at Goldman, Sachs, is a professor of finance at Bucknell University and is also mayor of his hometown, Eagles Mere, Penn.

Ever wonder who issues all those Internet names so there's only one to a customer? Well David Graves knows. In fact, he's the one that does it as Internet business manager at Network Solutions, the company which holds the federal government contract to register domain names for the Internet's worldwide network of computers. Where's all this World Wide Web stuff heading? "It's hard to say," Dave says. "All I know for sure is that the Internet is sure to reincarnate into something new and something incredible.

Up in Hanover, Theodore Thompson has been promoted to vice president from commercial loan officer at the Ledyard National Bank. Ted, who lives in Norwich, Vt., has 25 years of experience in all facets of commercial lending and credit administration. He had previously worked at Fleet Bank and the Dartmouth Savings Bank.

Need an in-depth and instructive read about one of America's most influential labor leaders? Then get hold of a copy of The Most Dangerous Man in Detroit, an historical biography of Walter Reuther by Nelson Lichtenstein. Nelson, a history professor at the University of Virginia, has received top reviews for his 575-page work. The Washington Post, for instance, hailed the book as "meticulously researched, clearly written, and quickly paced." It particularly noted its "masterful portrayal of the social and political stage on which the labor leader performed."

Many of these noteworthy alumni, and even some of us unnoteworthy guys, will join you at Reunion this June. Bring your autograph book, a camera, your family...and a very big smile.
