Hey everybody—there's a new sheriff in town. I'm replacing Brooks Clark as both Class Notes editor and class secretary. Brooks has done a sensa tional job juggling these responsibilities while raising a family and administering spin control for the Tennessee Valley Authority. Thank him next time you get the chance.
Before getting down to news, I'd like to exhort all '78s who haven't written in a while (or ever) to drop me a line on what you're up to, what you're planning, who you'd like to hear from, or whatever's on your mind. And always pass along your email address.
Checking in to Class Notes for the firsttime ever is David Foley: "I live coast of Maine, near Camden, where I'm a partner in a small architectural and building firm, Holland and Foley Building Design. We specialize mainly in custom homes which emphasize comfort for the owners, high-quality construction and environmentally responsible design and building methods. Recently I was awarded one of six environmental fellowships for 1996 from the German Marshall Fund of the United States. The fellowship will pay for me to spend a month in Germany, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia, researching environmentally oriented approaches to building design and construction. I'm married to Judy Berk, communications director of the Natural Resources Council of Maine, the state's leading environmental advocacy group. If any '78s are visiting the Maine coast, they are welcome to visit." Congratulate David at 232 Beech Hill Road, Northport, ME 04849 or call (207) 338-6690.

Jim Dannis posts the following from London: "After a long and satisfying legal career with Cleary Gottlieb in New York, Toronto, London, and Moscow, I recently traded in my law partnership for the new challenge of investment banking. I now run Salomon Brothers' investment banking business in Russia, splitting my time between our London and Moscow offices. We work principally with Russian companies, helping them raise financing in the international capital markets. Our family lives in London although we're actively considering a move to Moscow. My wife, Sandy, gave up her career at American Express to apply her management skills to the bigger challenge of running the family. We have three children—Larisa 8, born in New York; Jenna 6, born in Toronto; and Conor 3, born in London." Write Jim at 38 Charles II Place, 77 Kings Road, London SW# 4NG, England.
