Next time you are traveling along the Oregon Coast, don't forget to check in with Mike Mckeown. Mike continues to practice medicine while protesting that he and his wife, Patricia, don't do much traveling. He did report, however, that he and Pat recently spent three days on the Hanover Plain. Was his first visit since 1974. Not surprisingly, they found innumerable changes these past 22 years. When not pursuing his medical practice he has establish a page on the World Wide Web concerned with the implications of HMOs for folks like you and me.

As a former resident of the San Francisco Bay Area and lover of bread, I was interested to read recently in the Valley News of the resurrection of King Arthur Flour, located in Norwich, Vt. Seems Frank Sands, whose family has been involved in King Arthur since early in the 19th century, has seen a remarkable growth, which he attributes to the company policy of purchasing high-quality flour that costs more but produces higher-rising bread. Next time you are in Hanover take a moment to cross over to Norwich, where you can visit the company store. Interestingly, Frank and his wife, Brinna are gradually selling their stock in the company to the employees. Frank expects the company to be entirely employeeowned owned when he retires.

John Trimble has much to share with us about life in the changing world of banking. Commenting on his professional longevity, he noted, "Because I've been able to see other disciplines through my work and how other executives and entrepreneurs have succeeded in their respective businesses, I've emerged as a better professional myself." Sounds to me like one who has had the good fortune to have had a solid liberal arts education.

Happy New year, '58s. Just 17 months until our 40th Reunion. Start making your plans now.
