Flash! Harvard game November 1; classmates and widows considering a trip to Hanover for the Dartmouth-Harvard game on Saturday, Nov. 1, are invited to join the Rad Tanzers for cocktails and dinner right after the game at 8 North Balch St., two blocks from the stadium. Please let Rad and Sheila know if you can attend. Rad is our mini-reunion chairman and his telephone number is (603) 643-2324.

Rad and Sheila, married two years ago, again spent a month in Sanibel and on their way home had dinner with Ginny Newman, widow of George Newman, who winters in Sarasota and spends the rest of the year in Vermont.

The Rudolf Haffenreffer family wrote that their mother, Ginnie, just celebrated her 91st birthday, lives in her own home, and has 17 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. They are a generous family to Dartmouth. The Haffenreffers and the Larry Leavitts went to many Brown football games together and had been friends since Tabor Academy days.

It is sad to report the death of Mrs. Donald Lyman in March. Also classmates will be sorry to hear that Terrance McGaughan died, age 94, in April. The obituary of this amazing man will appear elsewhere in the magazine. We all remember his active life and wonderful personality. Also, Dorrie Bugbee, widow of Nate Bugbee, died on May 8, 1997. She was a loyal supporter of Dartmouth and our class. In honor of Nate, captain of the track team, she established a track award in his name.

Ellie Norris, our hard-working treasurer, widow of John Norris, is very busy directing two handbell choirs for her church and visiting children and grandchildren. She reports that we have about $4,000 in the class treasury and is thinking already about our 75th Reunion in 2000.
