I spoke to Pete Barker, who does a great job on our newsletter, and pointed out to him that only if news appears in this column is it preserved for posterity, so we'd better write about Pete. His acting career is expanding. He is presently doing a PBS film playing a Maine farmer with pages of dialogue. (He tried to get tutored by Dick Lewis but found Dick's accent unacceptable.) Pete is also in a film in which he is killed in the woods in Kingston, N.Y. (This cuts short his lines.) He is also part of a group trying to capitalize a movie production company to do ten films in five years.
Dick Barker has finally retired from the Wakefield, Mass., school system. The Barkers' year-round residence will be on Cape Cod.
