As promised, this month's column was supplied by Dr. DanielJones. I ran into Dan and Laurie Jones under the tent at the reunion and, unlike so many others (you know who you are!) Dr. Dan followed through on his promise to send news for the column. Here it is:
"Laurie and I live in Colorado with our son Jonathon. Jonathon is once more convinced he wants to be in the class of 2012 after attending the 20th Reunion. I am the chief scientist/chief technologist for Sykes Enterprises Inc. and telecommute from rural Colorado to corporate headquarters in Florida. (Jones Technologies was acquired by Sykes many moons ago, and Laurie and I have remained with Sykes).
"Life is occupied by the myriad of school activities for Jonathon, work, and escaping to the mountains. Laurie and I both serve on the boards of several charitable foundations and do volunteer work for the school systems in the area. Finally, I have started to play a little golf. (Not sure what I do would be called playing golf, but it is still fun.) Among the people unable to attend the Reunion that I have some sort of regular contact with are:
"David Bandfield and wife Marlene and their two children. David is still with CBS as a producer and happily esconced in Oradel, N.J. At last report, David still had his drum set and was known to take his frustrations out on them. David got involved in the educational process and is spending his free time as a member of the local board of education.
"Bruce Bell and wife Andies and their two children. Bruce and family have moved to Connecticut and live in an old church. After many years in the NYC dance and aerobics scene, Bruce teaches a form of kinesthetic therapy at an alternative healing institute. (You'll have to ask Bruce what it is he really does).
"George Federman, wife Carlene, and daughter Nikki live on Long Island. George is still with LeaRonal and travels internationally quite a bit. George and family visited us at our Keystone condo while they were on a ski outing at Vail in April. We had a truly mini-reunion in the Snake River Saloon. Nikki has become quite a poised young lady and even tried not to look bored as her dad and I swapped stories.
"George wimped out in June and attended his 25th reunion for the Hill School rather than join us in the mountains of New Hampshire for our 20th.
"And some brief notes from the Cohen Hall contingent at the Reunion:
"Norene Quinn Fisher, Rip Fisher, and their family; Ann White Katlic, husband Kerri, and family; Steve Melikian and family; Charles Kern; Alan Bates, and family; Neil and Mary Ellen Tarzy and family; and others including my family and me all got together. And so did a Tabard contingent of L. Nelson Hall,Steve Askey, Keven Keyes, PeterBrooks, and others. A good time was had by all.
"One person I have lost contact with is Vernon Banks '77. Has anyone heard from him recently?
"And was Ursula Gibson actually at the reunion? I didn't spot her even though she was listed as attending. Anyone wishing to get in touch has the best chance of a reply if they send e-mail to . My snail mail skills have declined with age. {*grin*}"
With many thanks to Dr. Dan, that is it for this month. If anyone else is interested in being a guest columnist, let me know! Please send news to
