As is usually the case, no one seems to be doing much except for Jerry Sass. When last heard from he was planning to attend the Class Officers Weekend meeting although he had just had an exploratory operation on his bladder. Evidently just a simple major operation isn't enough to slow him down. He and Rachel plan to attend her medical conference in Hawaii this summer. He said that Ted Baehr is visiting his son in Caravello, Calif., and will visit them later.

The death of a classmate is always a regretful occasion but the death of Johnny Phillips on January 29, as the result of several strokes, marks the passage of one of our greatest and would seem to call for special mention. He not only was a superb football and track athlete but was a leader in the book publishing world after graduation. He served as our class president twice and on the College Alumni Council.

In addition to Johnny, I regret to report the death of Clarence Hayes on January 27.
