A thousand apologies to Jean Weinberg, whom I inadvertently left off of the list of '74 women in a previous column. Andy Krakoff e-mailed a reminder: "I very much appreciated your column for our class last month applauding the contributions of the women in our class. I think it is important not to lose sight of the challenges which were presented to them. To my distaste, I still remember a sexist banner hanging from Butterfield. In any event, I wanted to add one to your list that of Jean Weinberg. Many thanks for your work on behalf of our class." I might add that I received an anonymous note from Westchester, N.Y., reminding me of Jean's membership in our class. My class list has Jean living in Brighton, Mass. Andy's cybernote was forwarded to his long-lost friend, Rocky Whitaker.

Dr. Frank Cole has joined the medical staff of Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan, N.Y., as member of the emergency medicine department. Prior to this, he was lead physician in the Guthrie Medical Group's Vestal Regional Office in Vestal, N.Y. All of those "late hours studying cell biology (Ben Semmes, where are you?) must have paid off for my old Sigma Nu Bro', who is also a clinical assistant professor in the department of family practice health sciences center at Syracuse University Medical School, and a past recipient of an award for excellence in teaching medical students there."

Yet another Nu Bro' makes the news: D. Stafford "Davey" Johnson was recently named director of Iriana Resource Corp. as part of a recent reorganization of the predecessor company Internationa] Skyline Gold Corp. that has joint-ventured on separate projects with Barrick Gold Corp., Cyprus Amax Indonesia Corp., and Battle Mountain Gold Cos. Got it?? Davey's day job is as principal and vice president-legal for Castle Group, formerly know as Fulcrum Management. He's a J.D. and M.8.A., and also has some other papers for post-graduate work at Harvard and the Colorado School of Mines. But can ya' still skate backwards, lad, is what I want to know?

While browsing through a recent issue of The Economist (my most recent perversion) I came across a quote from one Chuck Bralver, who is from the consultancy firm of Oliver, Wyman. Chuck was quoted on some subtleties of Morgan Stanley's recent blockbuster merger with Dean Witter. Yes, indeed, it is Bralver himself from the '74 list, who resides close to John "Fishbone" Fisher in Westport, CT. Rick "Wooly-Bully" Woolworth, of nearby Greenwich, was not available for comment.

Bill Carpenter, whom I reported as prez and COO of Bausch & Lomb this past December, got bored and is now CEO. Quote: "I am convinced this company has tremendous potential for future success and I look forward to having the opportunity to lead it. My confidence in the people of Bausch & Lomb is limitless and I know that, working together, we can make Bausch & Lomb number one in the eyes of the world." Your dad must be proud, William. Are you listening, Jay Conger?
