Ding, Ding, Ding!!! Knock, Knock!!! Who's there? Ivan! Ivan who?

Ivan waiting for letters from you yet I wait in vain. So, I will have to give you news that I have discovered through dubious sources and not-so-dubious sources.

Pat Lippoczy is working at Bain and Company in Boston. She is accompanied by LisaPisano and Susan Svenson, both of whom started in New York in other consulting, firms and have since moved up and out of the pit (I mean apple). I guess they have found that New York is not the last word in opportunity.

Others who have changed jobs or location include Walter Foster, who has finished his job with Senator Paul Tsongas '62, and I hear he is working for a printing company as he ponders the thought of law school. CindaStenger has left Bamberger's, where she was in the management trainee program, and started a job with the Batus Corporation, where she will be involved in another phase of retailing. Philip Gerson is back stateside. He had been in England since graduation. Edith Shwalb has just changed jobs as well, yet I do not know where she was working or where she will be working (newsworthy nonetheless).

I guess at this point some of you are wondering where this information is coming from. Well, just the other day Anne Blanchard called me and suggested that we get together and share our knowledge of '83s living on the upper west side of Manhattan. During the conversation, I learned of many people located all over the United States and abroad. And, by the way, Anne says hello to all her friends out there in the wide, wide world.

News Flash!!! Stuart Downs had a leading role in the Dartmouth Players' Winter Carnival production of Picnic. I was fortunate enough to catch this production, and I must say he was marvelous. All joking aside, Stu gave a wonderful performance which goes to prove that 'B3s do it best!

Robin Henning and Anne Blanchard spent part of their winter in Austria and Munich, vacationing on the slopes. They called it their "vertical vacation." Also skiing this winter was Deb Glendinning, who is working for IBM and living in the dear ol' northeast.

In the not-so-cold climate of the spicy town of El Paso, Tex., Tina Poulter resides. But not for long; Tina is on her way to Taipai, Formosa, with the foreign service, via Washington, where she will learn Chinese before her trip to the east. Tina had been in El Paso working for the immigration department.

Now for our graduate school contingent: Bruce Greenwald is at the University of Maryland studying medicine; Jeff Silverman is also at the University of Maryland, but he is in law school across the yard. Cathy Shelburne is studying Spanish literature in Madrid through New York University and would like everyone to be advised that she did graduate she finished her classes at Harvard. Finally, we have Chris Koller and Dave Wallinger, whom I don't have the slightest idea about, but since they didn't return Bruce Greenwald's telephone calls, we may never know.

Remember the bells at the beginning of the column? Those were wedding bells. Yes, folks, we're getting older, and our peers are getting married. Elizabeth Lawrence is now married to Lon Dittrick and living in California. Members of '83 attending her wedding included Torri St. Jacques, Laura Bordiuk,LeAnne Eberly and Annie Dupree. (See the photograph accompanying this column.)

The bells also sounded for Beth Runkle and Ben Mackey in Baltimore. Marcie Wolk,Molly Robson, Jens Robinson, Greg Midis,Cheryl (Gross) Sunderland, and BruceGreenwald were among the gleeful throng.

It's been fun and exciting once again. I have tons of news and not enough space (I wish!), but before I go, I would like to leave you with these tidbits and questions for those in New York. Tidbits: James McKim is working in computer consulting in New Hampshire. JeffTeich is a CPA with Peat, Marwick, and Mitchell. Yul Anderson received his master's in education from the University of Massachusetts. And Jessica Rosenberg was spotted at the "Heartbreak" in NYC, partying to rockand-roll tunes.

Questions: Who will be the first to have a mini-reunion at a restaurant on the upper west side of Manhattan? Where is Sue Smith? Where is the former Andrea Blount? These questions are to be dealt with immediately. These people are wanted by their friends, so get on it now!
