Still Great Issues
Thirty-five years have passed, yet the "great issues" that many reuners studied as undergraduates still have an abiding interest today. Or at least 350 alumni thought so. by their participation at the first-ever Reunion College. Under the tutelage of history professor Charlie Wood and two professors from other departments, and with organizational help from the Dartmouth Club of the Upper Valley, they examined the current phases of problems such as the U.S. role in world leadership; new responsibilities of women; ethics; business; racism; films; and the arts, in two lively and enlivening two-hour sessions on "The American Culture." Unless appearances deceive, Reunion College will become as essential to June gatherings in Hanover as badges, class numerals, and straw hats.
