Hugh Chapin: Just had a chance to look at the recent A Celebration of Service to Dartmouth book published on the occasion of the 176th meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Council. This book honored those alumni selected to receive the College's prestigious Alumni Award. The selection is made by the Alumni Awards Committee of the Alumni Council. Indicated in the listing and pictures were the following members of the class of 1947: Allen I. Bildner, H. Hamilton Chase,Allan R. Epstein, Townes M. Harris,Robert T. Mortimer, Walter R. Peterson.
Our class is very proud of the honors bestowed on the recipients! Ham Chase, as usual, is complaining of the weather in New Hampshire (July), waiting out the nearly continuous rain that he's been having in his area. It's been continuous thunder and "lights," and he and Dottie can't wait to get off to Martha's Vineyard. Ham received a note from Norm Fink telling him that he and Helen were in California early in June for son Hayden's marriage. They met their new daughter-in-law and are delighted Hayden has tied the nuptial knot. Norm and Helen are headed up New England way to help Barbara and Phil Segal celebrate their 50th anniversary. Urs and Frank Weber helped Betty Lou and Jim Osgood to celebrate their 50th at a family party at the family homestead. It would appear that the rest of the class has less than 50 years or more than 50!
Stay well...
