The poor souls in Hanover who are responsible for "getting out" The Alumni Magazine have a schedule that would worry the Biblical Job. It is now June of 1998, and they are putting together the September 1998 issue! Being an elderly codger pushing 74, it seems like just the day before yesterday, that we celebrated our fantastic "1947 50th Reunion" so well planned and executed by Abigail and Bob Kirsch. Also, and long overdue: the honor bestowed by Dartmouth on our classmate Walt Peterson as a "Doctor of Law." It was of little surprise that Walt looked like a Roman cardinal in his scarlet robes. The greatest gift that we all received was the "once again" revival of very old friendships going back better than 50 years.

The Dartmouth Alumni Magazine will be putting out a special issue next year. The issue will be known as "Dartmouth's Unknown History." As they gather Dartmouth "stories behind the stories" and Dartmouth footnotes to the world or national history, we hope that you'll share your stories with us. We hope that the class of 1947 will consider shining the light on forgotten or hidden (or even suppressed) history known only by our classmates. I'm sure that we all have stories to offer about ourselves, classmates, Dartmouth that are not well known and surely should be: confessions of pranksters, really what went on behind the scenes, etc. With our civilian days, V-12 Marine and Navy days, and post WWII days in Hanover all of us have something to share. Please let me know if you have any anecdotes to offer at the address listed below.

The Class Officers Weekend no longer exists by that name. It has now been renamed "Leadership Weekend" and moved to a weekend in the fall—and will include all class and club officers. This year it will be September 11-12, 1998. To insure that we get all input, we'd suggest the focal point of suggestions be directed to: Andy McCulloch, 47 Berrill Farms Lane, Hanover, NH 03755 (603) 643-2868.
