Mayor of Somerville, Mass., Mike Capuano is in a political primary battle this fall that rivals a World Wrestling Federation match. Mike is up against nine other Democrat hopefuls who are seeking the nomination to run for retiring Congressman Joseph Kennedy's seat. Needless to say, in that part of Massachusetts, the primary is the election.

If you've seen L.A. Confidential, you've seen Jim Metzler in a couple of scenes as the blackmailed city councilman who dallied with Kim Basinger. During a recent channel surf, I saw Bill McDonough, dean of UVA's School of Architecture, as the host and guide of his PBS series on Planet Neighborhood.

Bill Graham and wife Marcia, both physicians, have embarked with their three girls (Maureen 7, Kathleen 5, and Shannon 3) on a medical ministry sponsored by the Assemblies of God church. Bill, who is an ordained minister as well, and Marcia met during their internships at UConn. After marrying they fulfilled medical scholarship service obligations in the Public Health Service with Native Americans in Arizona for Bill and in the U.S. Air Force for Marcia.
