So I was sitting there, watching the sun come up over Lake Michigan, sweat dripping off me from my dancing spree to the eighties music played by the Chicago version of Polly Esther's. It was going to be another beautiful day in the Windy City, and I was nearing the completion of one of the greatest weekends I've had since graduation. And I thought, "Boy, I can't WAIT to talk about this weekend in Class Notes."
OK, that's not really what I was thinking. However, it would be remiss of me not to tell you about the nuptials of Eric Vratimos and his lovely bride, Emily Rovnick (a UC-Santa Barbara grad). A grand time was had by all, and numerous '92s were in attendance to cheer their classmate on.
I roomed with Justin Snyder, Paru Mital, and Ben Crawford at the famed Hotel Raphael. I saw John Davi and his wife, Brett kelleran and his girlfriend, soon-to-be-newlyweds Kristen Morrow and Brad Johnson, Paul Biondi (fully bearded, of course), and Tom Brodie with his fiancee.
I know what you're saying to yourself. You're saying, "Self, Tom Brodie got engaged?" Yup, March 26 in New York City (but not at Madison Square Garden, as you might think). The female '92 contingent consisted of Jessie Levine, Ashley O'Neill, JenSandoval, and Melissa Rich. In case you were wondering, they haven't lost a step on the dance floor.
The weekend before I was in Chicago, I had a nice night out on the town in Boston with Whitney Allen. Also saw ElizabethTerry briefly as she was running out the door to volleyball, but no sightings of JuliaKenerson. The three live together just outside the theater district in Beantown.
But enough about me. Mike Calichman took my bitching to heart in the April issue and responded immediately with news. He is in the third year of his Ph.D. program in chemistry at the University of Vermont and looking at one or two more years before moving on. Josh Howell is working in Lowell, Mass., after receiving an M.A. degree. KenLondon is engaged and waiting to hear from law schools in the New York City area while working as a paralegal. And Rigo Rodriguez is a first-grade teacher in LA and taking courses in an attempt to move into an administrative position.
Holly Johnson once again came through with tons of news, some of which I'll have to save for the next issue due to the DAM's infamous word-count issue. One big piece of news she passed on was the birth of a daughter, Kerry, to Dave Quenomoen and his wife, Caroline. As for Holly, she is still enjoying her pediatrics residency and was stationed in Pocatello, Idaho, for awhile. She is now back in Seattle.
Have a great summer! Create some memories that will make your classmates envious of you when they read them RIGHT HERE!
