It is "slim pickings" this month as I only have ONE e-mail left in my mail bag. This one precious bit of class news comes from Dan Foster, who writes in to appease me after all my pleas for letters and e-mails. Dan and his family have been living in Bellevue, Wash., since he graduated from Dartmouth. He will be moving east this fall to Durham, N.C., to attend law school at Duke. Dan also writes, "Classmates will not be surprised to learn that my class rank turns out to have been 976.1 still haven't had a job of any kind since spring of '92 at Thayer, and I now have two kids." If Dan can keep up his healthy sense of humor, law school should be a breeze.
I was not kidding when I said that diat is all the news I have. When the mail bag is empty, however, I do have a reserve of news clippings graciously sent from the Alumni Relations Office. Kathryn Savarese is making headlines in the hot area of internet services and e-commerce. Kassie is co-founder and president of GolfServ Online, an internet service that helps golfers track their handicap and playing performance, book golf lessons from golf pros, buy golf equipment, and find information on 17,000 golf courses worldwide. Golf enthusiasts can access GolfServ at .
Another classmate appearing in the print media is Jay Gonzalez. Jay stated his platform and governmental experience in a local paper back in April where he was running for an elected position in a suburb of Boston. Jay is a lawyer at Palmer & Dodge in Boston representing municipalities and other governmental entities throughout Massachusetts.
Kerry Patrick Handron also made the news recently for co-authoring AnEarthlings Guide to Deep Space, published to attract middle-school aged students to the wonders of intergalactic exploration and to prepare students for the future. The interactive book is filled with thought provoking information and vivid images. Kerry, also our former class webmaster, is currently the manager of the Burke Baker Planetarium of the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
That is all. Please send me news as my mail bag is empty for the first time. Think of how much you look forward to reading all the juice on your classmates each month. It only takes a minute to jot down some highlights from the past year or so. Make up something if you have to, but send me a note nonetheless.
