I'm inviting everyone to a party. June 16-18,2000. Dartmouth College. Classes of 1979 and 1980 will be serving cocktails. Mark your calendar, tell your boss. If you're the boss, for God's sake, just take the day off. And start going to the gym. Believe me, people will notice.

Life at 40. So serious. So breathless in pursuit of life all these years and suddenly life seems a little breathless in pursuit of you. I have no idea what that means. A time for reflection. For slowing down a little. Grace and wisdom supplant youthful exuberance and indiscretion. Like that late night last June, when I was drunk and naked in a pool with Anne Hallagher McGonagle, Tom McGonagle, Maribeth Hourihan Ryan, Tom Ryan, Grace Macomber Bird, (husband Jerry Bird '80 started it), and Scott Stuart. They were drunk and naked as well. Tom Ryan was the most drunk. Tom McGonagle the most naked. La plus ca change...The Boat Dock. Saturday, June 16, 2000. Sunset. Swimsuits suggested. Leave the booze.
