The undergraduate Career Services office is honoring one of die more energetic recruiters in recent history, John B. Kovas '63. During annual trips to Hanover the former senior vice president/account director for Leo Burnett connected with thousands of undergrads, recruiting a handful each year to the ad agency.
As a memorial to Kovas, who died in 1996, his family, including son Ted '94, TH '95, and daughter Caroline '01, have established a fund for career discovery programs and resources. Initiatives include Super Saturday, which brings undergraduates and alumni together in a mini-career conference; the Dartmouth Portfolio Project, in which students electronically track the skills gained from internships and foreign studies; and the Alumni(ae) Stories Project, in which students photograph alumni at work. Among the alumni shown in the Stories Porject are Sara Elizabeth Page '90, field/associate producer for TV specials on natural history and extreme sports, and Michael Chu '68, president of non-profit ACCION International.
