The White House Project—an independent, nonpartisan group dedicated to the principle that women should be on any list of Presidential prospects for 2000 has named Dartmouth professor of environmental studies Dr. Mae Jemison to its slate of 20 leading candidates. Former astronaut and medical doctor Jemison was the first black woman in space.
