To continue news on '25's great 75th reunion: Commencement was especially important to Sheila and Rod Tanzer and Bud Brown, who preceded the academic procession as the oldest reuning class and were seated in the front row. It was a pleasure to see Ted Geisel's widow, Audrey, receive an honorary degree for "her effective stewardship over the Suess legacy and for her signature efforts focused on education, literacy programs and health care." Some of '25's great-grandchildren, especially Ken McDonough's, Richard, 8, were thrilled to see J.K. Rawling, author of the Harry Potter books, receive her honorary degree.

I must also mention the ever-attentive class worker, Megan Hitchner '01, who graciously assisted the class and helped the reunion move smoothly. She is a wonderful example of the student with the true Dartmouth spirit of caring for others. As President Kemeny said: "We are our brothers' keeper." And not to be forgotten, the 12-year-old cellist Chelsea Weinstein and pianist Victoria Dabrushina, who gave graciously of their talents at the moving memorial service, as did the Rev. Sarah Reeves. Larry Leavitt outdid himself by attending most of the events. Follow-up phone calls and letters proved that those attending enjoyed their 75th.

Sadly, I must report that we have lost two classmates: Stowell Coolidge Goding on July 24 and Bernard Louis Levison on August 2. The class extends its sympathy to theirwidows and families. Obituaries will follow in a later issue.
