Ginny, widow of George Newman, writes that the Women of Dartmouth of Sarasota celebrated their tenth anniversary recently. Well done! Heard from Lee Burgess, who has just moved to a health-care facility in West Hartford, Conn. He writes with a good steady hand and sent along his check for class dues to be forwarded to EHie Norris.

Mark Emerson reminisced about a Winter Carnival when it was 35 degrees below zero and he'd promised to build an ice sculpture and he did! Betty, widow of Henry Crawford, twin of Francis Crawford, shares with us the great fact that there are 12 Dartmouth graduates in the family, with number 13 coming up in 1998. Can anyone in our class beat that? Please let me know!

Correction: Apologies to Frances, widow of Richard Gratz, for using the wrong first name for her; again a thank you for her generosity to Dartmouth.

Do you remember some of the freshmen rules (courtesy of Larry Leavitt)? 1) Rise when the president enters chapel.

2) Salute a professor by touching your cap, the president by removing it. 3) Wear jackets when outside of your room.

4) Do not wear knickers or golf stockings.

Having just returned from the Class of '52's 45th Reunion with husband Dick, I can assure you that while the rules (if there are any!) aren't as strict as the above, the students, in general, are much better dressed than a while back. The College and the students are buzzing with intellectual activity and volunteerism.
