Greetings '95s. Reunion is around the corner and I hope you've RSVP-ed to the reunion committee. In response to my plea for news, I received an e-mail from Ashley Cordell (Princeton '95) who told me that she and Chad Cook were married on September 4, 1999. According to her message, the Big Green was well represented at the reception held at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Two of the groomsmen were Brian Egan and JustinBloom. Brian is a fourth-year Yale Medical School student. Justin, who is newly engaged, is currently a systems consultant in Las Vegas. Among the guests were Damon Jones and his wife, Jamie, who traveled from Naples, Fla., where Damon is a high school teacher and head basketball coach. Also, Brett and Laurie Waligunda Thibodeau came from Philadelphia, Pa., where Brett leads the sales and marketing team for Sterling Collision Centers and Laurie is finishing her last year of law school at U.Penn. Brett Reece took time off from his surgical residency in New Orleans to be a part of the festivities, as did Bethesda Naval Hospital residents Tony-Donaldson and Tony Riccio. The new couple resides in Venice, Calif., where Chad is finishing his second year of business school at the Anderson School at UCLA, as well as starting a company, Gains Keeper (www.gainskeeper.com), and Ashley competes as an amateur Triathlete.
Derek Pollard also e-mailed to say that he recently tied the knot. Derek got married on November 13, 1999, in Atlanta, Ga., to Jill Shapiro (Emory '97). Jill is originally from Durham, N.H. According to Derek, there was a nice Dartmouth contingent present, including Jon and Laurie Shapiro, Pete Brown, Peter Hecht, Geoff Oltmans and Sue Fields '96. According to Derek, there was a little commercialism going on at the wedding as Pete Hecht who is finishing his Ph.D. in economics at Univ. of Chicago, dispensed copies of his first book, Hechtonomics. Jon and Laurie are now living in Philadephia, Pa., were Jon is getting his M.B.A. at Wharton while Laurie continues to work in N.Y.C. and commutes two to three times a week. Derek was unable to confirm that Pete Brown may be getting his M.B.A. at Columbia (Pete, you should write in to confirm!). As for Geoff oltmans. he was still lamenting the demise of his Chicago Bulls, much to the happiness of all the Psi Us who listened to his "Da Bulls" propaganda for four years of college. After a honeymoon in Aruba the couple is back in Atlanta, Ga, where Derek is in the first year of a five-year residency in radiology. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia last May. Derek and Jill both love Atlanta and plan to stay there for a long time.
