Greetings from threateningto-be-spring Seattle, where at least we've been able to sneak off on two school vacation weeks these past few months: (1) ski week in February, and (2) spring break in April. After a rugged (and exciting!) Holiday '99, where our sales rose 93 percent over our third quarter (and boy did we have our hands full in customer service!), cementing Amazon.com's No. 1 spot, it's been nice to catch my breath and spend time with the kids (now 10 and 7) and with Trudi. We've even managed to add a third horse, this time 'round a black and white paint/thoroughbred, and finish phase two of our perpetual remodel.

After our quest to find out what DaveKnopman is doing, Bill Powers '71 wrote that, "Dave is a neurologist on the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School. His specialty is the effect of aging on the human brain and the study of Alzheimer's disease." Bill is a fellow neurologist at Washington University in St. Louis, and runs into Dave at scientific meetings. Dave's e-mail address is knopm001@ maroon.tc.umn.edu.

Paul Kodes (gtrpaul@aol.com) e-mailed, "Thought I'd let fly with some news to bemuse and to schmooze...my new musical (book and lyrics), 'The People's House' set in the New Hampshire legislature, was just produced in workshop at the American Stage Festival. Premiere is set for November 9 at the Capital Center for the Arts in Concord, N.H., then.... The play centers around a time of turmoil, conflict and change for a female governor and female speaker of the house and features

appearances by Daniel Webster and others. Brings back happy memories of the Frost Play days downstairs in the Hop."

That wraps it up for this month. Keep those e-mails and letters coming!
