Thanks to a newly revised schedule, another DAM deadline is looming (that's short for DartmouthAlumniMagazine although the acronym could revert to its expletive noun form given my dearth of news). So here's yet another column installment from yours truly undertaking the humbling task of providing noteworthy news on some of our fellow classmates. None has arrived. So I thought I'd weave the web to see what some of our classmates are up to in that arena.

Amy Brout McHugh lives and works in the heart of Silicon Valley revolutionizing the online job search market as a consultant with Cruel World (www.cruelworld.com). And, trust me, this is no ordinaiy job search portal, my friend (move aside monster.com!). Cruel World is focused on the middle to upper management ranks in business and technology and uses state-of-the-art Job Cast technology to match qualified and interested professionals with midto senior-level opportunities. Headhunting goes virtual! When not reducing the unemployment rate, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, Bob, and their newborn baby.

Reducing surplus inventory from manu-facturers of everything from home and kitchen products, electronics, sporting goods to jewelry is the focus of Patrick Byrne's most current internet venture, Overstock.com. As the leading business-to-consumer liquidator, Overstock.com resells to consumers at huge discounts off retail prices. Check out the goods you are bound to find something you didn't realize you couldn't live without until it was offered at half-price. And get this—when Dr. Byrne is not busy as the owner and CEO of Overstock.com (which just so happens to be based in Utah, conveniently located near the bases of Snowbird and Alta ski areas), he resides in Hanover and gives occasional lectures on entrepreneurship and investing at the Tuck School. Sounds like ideal stress reduction!

In an effort to reduce unwanted and irrelevant ads on your favorite Web sites, Michael Clarkin recently joined Win Win.com as chief sales and business development officer. Prior to joining Win Win (a leading online advertising marketing company that personalizes Web ads according to your preferences), Michael spent more than 10 years at Hewlett-Packard in several capacities in Europe and Asia. No doubt the addition of Michael's high-tech marketing talent is a win-win" for his new employer and a definite loss-loss" to HP (sorry—couldn't resist that one!)

Dr. Patrick P. Visoardi was recently board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Patrick is with the surgical team at The Centre in Elkhart, Indiana, specializing in all areas of hand and reconstructive surgery, having completed his general surgery residency at the University of Louisville and a fellowship in hand surgery at the Kleinert Institute of Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville. Along the way Patrick did complete a residency in plastic surgery at Duke University (a.k.a. "cosmetic surgery? Do you suppose Patrick is qualified to reduce a few of these unwanted, unsightly laugh lines' that have appeared for some of us. Just a thought—after all, reunion is just around the corner.).

Speaking of which, mark your calendar and save the date—June 15-17,2001. Hanover beckons your return in celebration of our 15th (even though it's really reunion. Early preparations have begun—anyone interested in finding out more details or, better yet, getting involved, contact class president Becky Blake Osborne (ozzie02@msn.com). She'll steer you in the right direction, provided she's not too tired from juggling her latest addition, Matthew Lowell Osborne, who joined big sister Casey on April 28. Congratulations, Becky and Randy!

Keep the news coming.
