Gotta breeze through this months Class Notes...l was forced to get an extension, so forgive me if they are lame. Hey, I think I remember numerous conversations with profs that began that way!
Need to further update on Sue Greeley Sylva. She attended the wedding of Edie Josephson to David Owen in October. She saw Jen Sandoval and husband Mike Faherty. They are living in Stamford, Connecticut, and Jen has gotten back into teaching at Greenwich Academy. Tisha Jackson Avallone was also there with her husband, Mike, as were Jamie Horowitz Perello and Carina Wong. She also reported on Melissa Rich and Christine Blanchet, still rooming together in San Francisco, and the recently engaged Erin Mairs. Can this be? I have a release from The NewYork Times wedding section about the nuptials of Remy Trafelet and Lara Schmidt in Columbus, Ohio, at the end of September. According to the report, he is the managing partner of Trafelet & Cos., a hedge fund.
Another report—this time from the Worcester Telegram—announced the engagement of Jodi Williams to Dr. Scott Bienenfeld. Apparently, they have been married since then (a December wedding was planned). Scott is a fourth-year psychiatry resident at NYU Medical Center.
Another wedding, this time Bert Brown to Veree Hawkins 93. He sent me greetings from Dallas (which he lovingly referred to as "virtual hell"). Several '92s in attendance, including Dave Quenemoen, Richelle Demayo Casey, Dave Orringer and Dan Fisher and Susan Owens (who, cornbined, are Dan and Susan Fisher-Owens...really). Bert said he and Veree still live in "wonderfully awful Dallas," where she is director of Latin-American marketing for The Sabre Group and he is a worn-out general surgery resident." Reading between the lines, I think he's pretty happy. Dave Q. is an architect in Connecticut, while Dave O. is in his fourth year of medical school in Michigan. Richelle is also in the medical field, as she and her husband, Jon, are residents in pediatrics. Susan is finishing up med school at George Washington—I'm sensing a pattern here—but Dan managed to break the mold and is working for a large law firm in D.C.
And congratulations to Jen Borton, a new assistant professor of psychology at Hamilton College!
That sit for now...and just in time. Just trust me when I say that.
