Both from the DAM office and from a recent issue of the Dartmouth Medical School 'Alumni News and Notes" we learn of the publication of a biography covering the life and career in surgery of Hardy Hendren, M.D. The book, titled The Work of Human Hands, by Wayne Miller, deals with Hardy's youth, college career, hobbies and recreation and, most importantly, the more than 200 complicated reconstructive operations which he carried out successfully. The honor for Hardy and the Children's Hospital of Boston is well deserved. Congratulations on the recognition!
Joe Eisaman (1152 San Ysidro Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210; joe.eisaman@worldnet. att.net) has volunteered to serve as a clearinghouse for news from class members who provide him with their e-mail addresses. He offers to keep the class officers informed of incoming items, also by e-mail. Let's try it.
The annual Class Officers Weekend is scheduled for September 14-15 in Hanover. Those with concerns for the officers should contact them individually, especially if there are concerns to be voiced to the respective assembled officers of the various classes at the meeting.
The sympathy of the class is offered to the family of Robert Price, who died on April 12 of this year.
Reunion reminders: mini-reunion, Norwich Inn, October 19-21 (chairman Joe Hayes); 55th Reunion, Hanover, June 10-12,2002 (chairman Bob Kirsch).
