Hanover announced a gift of $500,000 given by Katie Black in memory of her husband Dick, Katies generosity is a major step toward building a Hanover community center that will be named for Dick. After retiring from CPC International in 1968, they moved to Hanover, where Dick was active in College and community affairs.Their generosity extended to the Dartmouth Medical School, where they sponsored scholarships for students, among other gifts. Katie is now living at Harvest Hill, a retirement community in Lebanon.

Dick Burke's widow, Mary, is enjoying life at Essex Meadows, Connecticut, where she and Dick had lived since before his stroke many years ago. She swims in the pool and drives her car, so life must be good. She has three artist daughters, the youngest of whom is married.

Art Nighswander, the class baby, celebrated his 93rd birthday in October with 20 family members present. Art is a founding charter member of the Daniel Webster Society, which was formed to benefit the Spaulding Youth Center in the Laconia, New Hampshire, area. The center started out years ago as an orphans' home on land that was part of the Daniel Webster Homestead and also that of his sister.

Herb Bissell's Christmas card shows him and Marge with their new snazzy, bright-yellow VW bug.

Gerry Updyke, Southern Pines, North Carolina, has died. He spent part of WWII in a Manila prison camp.

Charlie Dudleys widow, Frances, died at Kendal, Hanover, in December. She had been a member of the New Hampshire legislature and on many town committees in Lebanon.
