Larry Kenney has informed us of the death of Marion Davis, widow of George Davis, on January 10, just a year and a day after George died. And so we lose another of our great ladies. Speaking of widows, it seems to me not enough has been said of the loyalty and interest in class affairs of our class widows, who now far outnumber the living and active (or potentially active) classmates. As mentioned some months ago Jack Zellers reported that 59 widows had paid class dues, enabling him to report that, unlike our federal government, our class treasury is in the black. Why so many delightful young ladies decided, long ago, to entrust their futures to so many of us of the Dartmouth class of 1928 may not be readily apparent. Handsome, talented, and accomplished as we were, there must have been others even more so from which to choose. Is it because they cherished the Dartmouth connection? We may never know.
I regret to. report the death of Joe Tidd, in Hanover, on January 13.
