I regret to report that John Gaudioso informed me that comedian, author and radio and TV personality Monteria Ivey passed away on December 13. After graduation Ivey began doing stand-up comedy. Together with long-time comedy partner Stephan Dweck, Monteria co-authored several books—including Snaps, DoubleSnaps and Triple Snaps—that traced the development of African-American humor from slavery to contemporary urban comedy. Ivey and Dweck also co-hosted a popular New York sports radio show.
