Happy 40th birthdays '82! As one of the youngest in our class, I get to relish the waning glory of my fourth decade for another year, while all of you charge on into your fifth.

This is supposedly our North Mass issue, but some others have managed to slip in as well.

Carol Davis Fiske lives in West Hartford, Conn., with husband Bob and two sons, 2 1/2 and almost 6 months. Bob works at the attorney general's office. Carol writes, "Having mastered the art of litigation myself (ha ha!!), I stopped practising law when George was born. We are loving West Hartford and invite any Hanover-bound classmates to stop by. Laura Morrell Hicks lives nearby in Coventry, Conn. She is teaching at a private school in Simsbury which her two children also attend. Laura is also coaching track, running the school's National Honor Society and skiing in winter. Andrea Borden also lives in Connecticut, with her husband, John, and three children. By small world coincidence, John is working with VJ Dowling (an occasional habitue of North Mass). Cindy Willett used to live in Connecticut, but left for Virginia to become the news producer of local television station. She was married last fall and is expecting a baby in summer. Other sightings have been pretty sketchy—Kate McKee is married to Ken Fox. They have two sons and live in St. Louis."

Our attempt at a Motor Lodge issue failed. Only Jeff Newman wrote in: "I have been a teacher, lawyer and now am an artist. I create illustrations for patent applications. I was married in 1990 and widowed in 1996. Our daughter, who was then 3 1/2 months old, is now 3 1/2 years old. She skis (her third winter on boards) and is very active. Motor Lodge reminiscences: The Molo beach consisted of an armchair on the outside deck. We used to drink beers and watch the guys at C&A Pizza next door who sold dope out of the shed out back."

Lots o' news clippings from the alumni office these days. Dr. Darryl Wong Kan is the orthopedic surgeon for the University of Hawaii football team. Charlie Crane divides his time between New York and his home in Maine. He is chief market strategist of Key Asset Management at KeyBank Chris Marriott is senior vp and director of services at Circle.com, a Connecticutbased interactive digital marketing and communications firm. Derek Webb is head of theme fund investing at AIM Global Health Care Fund. Marc Krantz is managing partner of Kohrman Jackson & Krantz P.L.L. in Cleveland. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions and public and private securities. Christine Birch was recently named senior vice president of North American marketing at Columbia Motion Pictures Group. She began her career at Random House, then found work at TriStar Pictures. At Columbia, Christine has been deeply involved in restructuring the studio's sales efforts and was instrumental in marketing films including "As Good as It Gets," "Sense and Sensibility," "Jerry Maguire," "Men in Black" and "My Best Friend's Wedding."

Tom Burack just wrapped up an assignment as chairman of the N.H. Land and Community Heritage Commission, which recommended that the legislature create a permanent new program to provide matching funds for local and state efforts to protect priority historical, cultural and natural resources. Joanna Boeing Bratton is manager of the defined benefit department at the Angell Pension Group in Rumford R.I. She has a master's degree in counseling and consulting psychology from Harvard's Ed School. And last but not least, U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald has been making waves in Congress bygasp—occasionally voting with the Democrats.
