The mini-reunion at the Norwich Inn on November 1-2, arranged by Joe Hayes, was attended by 17 class members for our meeting: Bailey, Bingham, Chase, Cohn, Evans, Hallager, Harvey, Hayes, Hollerith, Lanzillo, Leggat, McCulloch, Page, Segal, Sistare, Weber and Zuckemick. For the Saturday night dinner, following the Harvard game, we had 18 classmates and 22 wives and guests. At the class meeting, Ham Chase introduced our presidential intern, Melissa Hammerle '03, who spoke briefly and answered questions about her perceptions of the College. Although it is now winter, Joe Hayes' enthusiasm for his sailing experience last August should be noted. Joe took his family of seven to Greece, where they chartered a 72-foot sailboat for two weeks of cruising in the Mediterranean Sea with Joe and his family as crew. Ham and Dottie Chase returned from an alumni trip on the Danube in late October, visiting Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Germany. They returned enthusiastic about the scenery and friends made on the trip. Dick Hollerith mentions visiting at his place near Williamsburg, Virginia, which was open for the Virginia Garden Week in the fall. In Williamsburg he highly recommends The Inn at Warner Hall, a B&B run by Theresa Fogarty '83 and her husband, Troy Stevens. At the class meeting in Norwich someone noted that Arnie Weber's son in Texas received an award for heroism last spring for saving the life of a 5year old boy who was choking on a bottle cap. We have it on good authority from the Cohassett Yacht Club that Don Evans joined the cruise to Vinalhaven, Maine, in August and, in addition, joined the seven other alumni in singing all verses of "Men of Dartmouth." As one who grew up in Hanover, I read with interest the article in the Alumni Magazine on the relationship between the College and the town. The current population cited is more than 7,400. Several of us remember Hanover in the late 1930s as a sleepy New England town of 2,500. Even then, problems existed in the relations between gown and town. The 2003 mini-reunion is scheduled for October 24-25,2003, at the Norwich Inn.

The sympathy of the class is extended to the families of recently deceased class members: Frank Aberle (September 23, 2002), Robert Ives (September 21, 2001), and Henry Williams (August 9,2002). Keep in touch.
